WebIt is possible from the info you gave that you GFX card is just about burnt up (happened to my room mate that way, everything was fine then 1 day the pc was stuck at 1024x768 and the driver installer for his card couldn't detect the gfx card even though it was outputting on it, then it wouldn't output at all 2 days later).
