WebDec 18, 2012 · Abstract. We design, fabricate and study a novel platform for cavity optomechanics: a silicon nitride membrane patterned as a sub-wavelength diffraction grating. Using the grating as one mirror of a Fabry–Perot cavity, we realize an optical finesse of F = 2830 ± 60, corresponding to a grating reflectivity of R = 0.998. http://cem01.ucsd.edu/courses/ece182/182-06_files/8FP.pdf#:~:text=The%20resolution%20of%20a%20Fabry-Perot%20interferometer%20is%20measured,4%20%2F%20F%202%201%20-%20R%20%286%29
