Web11 de mar. de 2024 · We build on the results of a recent paper that introduced a ‘global model of ISARs’; a structural equation model that provides a solid foundation for understanding ISAR variation across archipelagos. WebMethods: We apply 15 regression models, including linear regression and piecewise regressions with two and three segments to 68 global island datasets that are sourced from the literature. Results: The number of area thresholds in SARs varied among groups and correlated positively with area range of a studied system.
WebTrophic niches condition the energetic performance of species within food webs providing a vital link between food web assembly, species diversity, and functioning of ecosystems. Our understanding of this important link is, however, limited by the lack of empirical tools that can be easily applied to compare entire food webs at regional scales. By comparison, with … WebFive regression models coding PM 2.5 as a categorical variable were fitted to explore the dose–response relationships between PM 2.5 level and blood-feeding rate: a linear relationship for model 1, a 2-segment piecewise linear relationship for model 2, a 3-segment piecewise linear relationship for model 3, an exponential decay relationship for …
Web2 de jun. de 2024 · The positive relationship between species richness and area—the species–area relationship (SAR)—is a key principle in ecology. Previous studies show large variation in the SAR across taxa collectively indicating the necessity of a taxon-focused approach to accurately evaluate biodiversity scaling patterns.
